The bottom left corner of the painting is almost finished; the stone work and the facade of the building is in the shadow and a strong light breaks through the leaves illuminating the top of the house. This play of light and shadow creates the atmosphere of a warm, sunny day. The passage under the house gives added depth. I do not consider it relevant to discuss what colours were used in the process of painting, as adjustments to the image will constantly be made, rendering it impossible to give a full account of colours were blended and used. |
