My paintings represent a wide range of motifs; I paint what I see and what I enjoy – breathtaking landscapes and busy cityscapes. The frothy waves of the tide on a cold Scandinavian coast, the sunlight burning the massive mountains of Provence or the unexpected beauty of a roadside bush are all pictures that have etched themselves in my mind and thus earned their place in my gallery.
I paint traditional watercolours and enjoy bringing a landscape to life in the transparent and suggestive world of this technique. When oil is my medium, I allow myself to stretch the limits of the technique and experiment; by using multiple perspectives in one painting I can increase the experience, and by using unorthodox material blends, I can increase the expression.
My development as an artist has been as long and diverse as my life. My travels, chance meetings with strangers, loves and losses have made my senses increasingly acute. I enjoy experiencing life, and I enjoy trying to capture life. I hope you will enjoy my work.
